There are no required vaccinations for Bulgarian citizens when we travel to Cuba. However, there are some recommended which we decided to take. After all we want to have a good holiday and not being bothered by any easy-to-catch diseases or any other discomfort which can be caused by a bug.
I’ve booked an appointment with Boots with the idea that we will sit with someone who will take us thru the process and give us some recommendations. With a price of course.
After a quick 5-10 min chat it turns out we have to pay around £300-£350 for all the vaccinations we want to have. I was prepared for a similar amount but decided to skip that and gave NHS a chance to impress me.
The day after I booked an appointment with the local GP. After waiting for around 10-15 min we were called by the nurse and she gave us a brief idea of what’s recommended for Cuba. As i mentions, no vaccinations are required, but there are some recommendations.
I don’t know why i was expecting her to know everything on top of her head and was amazed after she looked at the website where i previously checked as well.
That made me feel good that i can still find the correct information googling around the net 🙂
20 min and £0 (zero) later we were given a cocktail of anti-bug injections which compiles to the following list:
- Hepatitis A
- Typhoid
- Tetanus
- Diphtheria
- Polio
Good thing is also that if we come back to NHS next year for a booster of the above we will be protected for 10 years ahead. So no more injections for our next holidays! 🙂
