Kerið Volcanic Crater

This was the first time I saw a volcanic crater with my own eyes. Kerið volcanic crater is a place which you should not miss if you visit Iceland!

The emerald colour water is so pure that you wish you jump straight in! Although I am not sure if swimming is permitted there. And in October is very cold. The only thing left for you is to keep your breath and enjoy the view.

You can walk around the crater and the walk takes about 30-40 minutes. You can even go down to the water and this will add another 30 minutes to your trip. But it’s totally worth it!

I do not remember how much exactly we paid to enter, but it was less than £10 per person, which is really cheap for what you get.
Keep in mind there are no toilet facilities around the crater and the nearest toilet is about 10-15 min drive, which sometimes can be a long drive 🙂
